IUI cycle 1- August 2013

*August 2nd 2013 cycle day 1
*August 9th picked and reserved donor sperm
*August 10th, sent off consent form
*August 12th paid for donor sperm, surprise 'peak' on my ovulation test later in the evening
*August 13th another 'peak' on my Ovulation test in the morning, scheduled for IUI the next day(!!)
*August 14th natural IUI, start of the 2 week wait until my test date on the 28th
*August 26th very faint line on the 'First Response' and a very 'clear' result on the digital test, hadn't expected it this early as it was only day 12 after my IUI

which started my obsession of taking pregnancy tests, I have taken 7 so far!

  1. Congratulations! It sounds like it happened to you from the first time? My fertility specialist in London told me I'd need to prepare myself for 4-5 shots before I can get pregnant. The lady at the Stork clinic told me to start preparing my body for December's first shot. She told me to start with ovulation test. Sounds like a rocket science to me. Any tips?

  2. Thank you, yes it did work first time and I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant.

My consultant told me to go for medicated cycles and said to expect having to do 3 rounds of IUI to get pregnant.
We decided to try a couple of unmedicated cycles to avoid the risk of twins, but imagine our surprise when it worked first time!

I used expensive clearblue ovulation tests from around cycle day 10, but the cheaper ones didn't work for me.
I was never into taking my temperature, but I know it works for a lot of women, I'm just too lazy to get up at the same time every day!
On my August cycle, I used two ovulation tests every day(from day 10) just to make sure I didn't miss the LH surge.
