Our story so far

Hello and welcome to my blog, I thought I'd give you a quick update of our story so far with the timeline of my treatment:

*February 2012 bloodtests through my GP
*April 2012 I attended an open day at my clinic
*May 2012 initial consultation and counselling
*May 2013 renewed some blood tests and had a 2nd 'initial' consultation and counselling as my paperwork had expired
*August 2013 decided to go ahead with IUI, cycle 1.

  1. Hi Mummy,
Can you please tell me if you started your journey in the UK or abroad, ie Denmark clinic etc?

I've just returned from Copenhagen where I visited the Stork Klinik. And decided for AI with them. I'll be 38 next month and will start my journey in December this year.
I'm trying to gather as much information from other bloggers as I can so I'm feeling a bit clued about the journey. I've decided this to do on my own. So far I've done fertility test and need to get blood tests done. Can I just get them done at my local GP?

  2. I really wanted to go to the Stork Kinik, even went as far as sending off my paperwork to Denmark. The idea of having treatment done by midwifes really appealed to me and the team was lovely when I met them at the Fertility Show a few years ago.
However, my cycles were all over the place and that combined with a job that is NOT flexible at all, I ended up just going for treatment locally in London.
The month I had IUI done, I actually ovulated earlier than expected, but the clinic was able to accommodate that. If I had gone abroad I would have had to change flights/hotels.

I actually had my first round of blood tests done on the NHS at my GP, when it came to renewing them the year after, I paid out of pocket.

Good luck and let me know how you get on!
